Mayor Mayor
Full name: Cornelius Connard Christopher Cunningham XLII
“The 42nd. The richest. The one who wanted to be remembered for something other than a number.”
Overview
Party founder, benefactor, employer, and walking joke with terrifying financial implications. His stated goal is not simply to be the wealthiest being in existence (he already is) but to be remembered as the man who funded the greatest adventuring party the world has ever seen.
Appearance
Short, pudgy, jolly. Richly overdressed at all times.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Suit | Tailored black with gold trim |
| Tie | Wine red |
| Hat | Comically tall top hat |
| Accessory | Monocle, cane |
He looks considerably fatter than he actually is. Hidden cash cushions are sewn into his suit, partly for protection, partly for luck, mostly because of course they are.
Personality
| Trait | Naive and kindhearted to a fault. Comically out of his depth in most practical situations. |
| Ideal | Money is not the goal. Being remembered for something meaningful is. |
| Bond | The party he founded. He wants them to be legendary more than he wants anything else. |
| Flaw | Deeply insecure about being known only for his wealth. Terrible at everything that is not making money. |
Ability Scores
Not statted for combat. His weapons are resources, connections, and the fact that Sebastian is nearby.
Wealth
- Liquid assets (spare change): 42 quintillion Orichalcum pieces
- Actual net worth: Unquantifiably boundless. Transcends dimensional accounting.
- Considered without question the richest being in existence.
Mayor Mayor’s Coin Purse
A magical item containing his 42 quintillion Orichalcum pieces in spare change.
- The party made a pact granting them access to it.
- Jack rolled high enough to gain the unique ability to manifest the purse from anywhere.
- Benwull passed a CHA check and became the most trusted handler, so he is usually the one who manages it.
Concepts Purchased
Mayor Mayor has bought his way out of certain metaphysical rules entirely.
| Concept | Effect |
|---|---|
| Bribery | Cannot be accused of bribery. He owns the concept. It simply is not bribery. |
| Taxes | Does not apply. See above logic. |
This list may be longer. Nobody has checked thoroughly.
Story Role
- Primary patron and funding source for M3
- Source of absurd, reality-warping resources
- Comedic anchor and world distortion engine
- Plot catalyst for the party’s rise to legendary status
Connections
- Sebastian: his butler. Loyal beyond question. Vastly more dangerous than he looks.
- Benwull “Luckyfoot” Budly: recruited after Mayor mistook a gem theft for a professional security audit.
- Asgar D. Yan: hired after Asgar forced himself into the situation through sheer conviction.
- Jackstone “Jack” Collure: noticed after Jack launched himself off one of the Mayor’s countless penthouses.
- Anne T. Agonist: his adopted daughter.
- Madam Chi K. En: close friend, ally, and frequent tea confidant.
- Justin Case: his agent. Handles logistics for the party. The briefcase is not a Guild-issued item.
- Scott Free: the party’s lawyer. Paid handsomely. Has never lost.
