Richland Richholdings Conglomerate (RRC)
Overview
The Richland Richholdings Conglomerate is the corporate empire behind Richie Jr.’s spending habits. It is an extremely wealthy conglomerate currently left in the hands of an eleven-year-old because Rich Sr. is in a “meeting outside of time” and unavailable.
Nobody has explained what that means. Everyone is too afraid to ask.
Current Status
Rich Sr.: status unknown, location described only as “outside of time.” Richie Jr.: acting head. Has access to discretionary budgets earmarked for “youth leadership development.” These budgets are large enough to destabilize local contract markets.
History
The Richland Richholdings Conglomerate predates Richie Jr. by generations. It began as a single trading house and expanded through acquisitions, mergers, and a talent for buying things before anyone else realized they were valuable. By the time Rich Sr. took the reins, the RRC owned interests in shipping, mining, textile production, real estate, and several financial instruments nobody fully understands.
Rich Sr. ran it with precision. Budgets were planned years in advance. Discretionary funds were locked behind approval chains. Then he entered a “meeting outside of time,” left the stamp set on the desk, and did not come back.
Richie Jr. found the stamps, found the discretionary budget labeled “youth leadership development,” and found that nobody in the organization was willing to tell an eleven-year-old heir “no.”
Structure
- Head: Rich Sr. (absent). Richie Jr. (acting, via discretionary authority).
- Board of Directors: Exists on paper. Has not convened since Rich Sr.’s departure. Members are reportedly “awaiting his return.”
- Administrative Staff: Career bureaucrats who keep operations running. They process Richie Jr.’s spending requests because the forms are technically valid.
- Regional Offices: The RRC maintains offices in multiple cities. The Solen office handles local contracts and serves as Richie Jr.’s base of operations.
- Legal Division: Robust. Handles contract disputes, liability shielding, and the occasional uncomfortable question about where Rich Sr. actually is.
Goals
- Institutional: Maintain market position and asset value across all holdings. Protect the Richland brand.
- Richie Jr.’s Goals: Prove to his absent father that he can lead. Outshine M3 and Mayor Mayor in public reputation. Make The Rich Initiative the most recognized adventuring brand on the continent.
Resources
- Deep financial reserves across diversified holdings
- Established trade and supply relationships predating the current generation
- The “youth leadership development” discretionary budget, which is large enough to distort local contract markets when Richie Jr. spends aggressively
- Administrative infrastructure that functions on autopilot, requiring minimal oversight
Role in the Campaign
Primarily functions as the financial engine behind The Rich Initiative and a comedic counterpoint to Mayor Mayor’s boundless personal wealth. Where Mayor’s wealth is unfathomably vast and personal, RRC wealth is institutional, bureaucratic, and has line items.
Connections
- Richie Jr.: acting head, primary point of contact
- The Rich Initiative: main visible project funded by RRC discretionary budget
- Mayor Mayor: the individual whose personal wealth and influence RRC cannot match, to Richie’s deep frustration
