Overview

Benwull’s mother worked for The Grand Poppies for years as one of its most trusted healers. She treated dock workers, merchants, petty criminals, and anyone who showed up with coin or a promise.

She opened a cursed chest on behalf of the guild because they asked her to and she trusted them. The curse reached into her and hooked itself through her life. The guild grabbed the treasure inside and fled while she collapsed on the floor.

Benwull found her there. That night is the wound at the center of his entire story.

La Organisazion’s corrupted branch has been managing the curse since, trading treatment for debt. They are not curing her. They are keeping her alive enough to keep him paying.

Mayor Mayor’s staff now watches over her and coordinates care, which means the immediate threat from La Organisazion has eased. But the curse itself is unresolved.
